I’m a CONTEMPORARY british figurative ARTIST with a studio space based in leamington spa.
My work explores the relationship between the human body, landscape and memory. Through painting, I seek to capture not only how something looks, but how it feels; using the figure as a way of expressing vulnerability, resilience and our connection to the places we inhabit.
Working primarily in oils, I move between portraiture, the human figure and landscape, allowing these subjects to overlap and inform one another. My paintings balance observation with intuition, combining expressive brushwork, layered surfaces and subtle symbolism. Rather than aiming for a literal representation, I am interested in creating spaces where emotion, memory and place coexist.
The landscapes I paint often echo the forms of the body, while figures become part of the landscape itself. This dialogue reflects an ongoing fascination with embodiment, identity and the marks left by time and experience. Whether working from life, sketches or imagination, I am drawn to moments of quiet reflection that invite viewers to bring their own interpretations to the work.
Through my practice, I hope to create paintings that reward sustained looking; works that feel both intimate and expansive, revealing something new with each encounter.
